Westlife's Nicky Byrne tipped for early Strictly exit
'Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood thinks Nicky Byrne will be a disaster on the show because he never danced when he was in boy band Westlife.
Westlife's Nicky Byrne has been tipped for an early exit from 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The singer has joined the line-up of celebrities for the latest season of the BBC One dance competition but judge Craig Revel Horwood thinks Nicky will be a disaster because the boy band - which also comprised Shane Filan, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily - were never renowned for their dance moves.
He told The Sun newspaper: "He may bring a little bit of beauty and charm but can he move those legs? Westlife were only famous for sitting on stools."
Nicky appeared to agree, saying he is worried about how he will compare to his fellow contestants after his years of singing ballads with Westlife.
He said: "I'm excited, scared to death. Most of my dance career has been spent sitting on a stool with Westlife."
Nicky announced his inclusion in the show on twitter and later admitted he was expecting it to be a challenge.
He wrote: "So there you are, the rumours Were true ! I've signed up & looking forward to being a part of Strictly Come Dancing 2012.. Holy s**tballs !
"I'm excited I'm scared & I'm laughing all in one ! It's gonna be such a challenge and I'm reallylooking forward to it. What a great lineup (sic)."
The 33-year-old singer added: "When Westlife performed on Strictly, I remember looking at the contestants and seeing the fear in their eyes."
