Davina McCall proves a turn-off for listeners
A guest stint by Davina McCall on BBC Radio 2 has received more than 150 complaints from listeners.
The presenter was criticised on BBC messageboards for her ‘cringe-worthy’ style. The corporation said McCall, who was filling in for the Ken Bruce morning show, has a style in keeping with fellow DJs Dermot O’Leary and Chris Evans.
A statement said: “While we appreciate that Davina’s style is different to Ken’s, we are also getting a positive reaction from some Radio 2 listeners who are really enjoying the show.”
McCall suffered a similar setback last year when her prime time TV chat show was deemed a flop.
