Alesha Dixon: 'I'll watch Strictly'
Alesha Dixon will watch the next series of 'Strictly Come Dancing' despite leaving as a judge on the BBC show
Alesha Dixon will watch 'Strictly Come Dancing' this year, despite leaving the show.
The 33-year-old singer - who quit the BBC programme to join the judging panel of 'Britain's Got Talent' alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and David Walliams - wishes her replacement Darcey Bussell the "best of luck" with the show and will watch how she gets on.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I've worked with Darcey before. She's a nice girl, she knows what she is doing. She's the judge who is now going to be judged, but I do wish her the best of luck, she'll be fine. I will be watching, it's a successful show!"
Alesha admits she "said a little prayer" when she knew news of her departure was to be released, as she was concerned it would be similar to when she replaced Arlene Phillips on the panel of 'Strictly'.
She added: "I think I was a little bit worried. There was an anticipation when the news was going to break. I'm not gunna lie, I said a little prayer. I said a little prayer to say, 'Please God, let this be smooth!' "All that drama and controversy I went through with 'Strictly', when I took over from Arlene, I was praying that this wouldn't be that. And it was actually really positive, the BBC were really cool, and I was grateful because I thought, 'I can't go through that again!' "
Alesha Dixon is the face of the new exclusive Impulse fragrance Sweet Smile. The exotic scent, which features top notes of pear, mandarin and jasmine, is available exclusively from Superdrug stores from today (29.08.12).
