Karen Gillan has been giving Jenna-Louise Coleman tips on working with Matt Smith.
The 24-year-old Scottish actress is departing 'Doctor Who' in the forthcoming series and has been happy to help out the former 'Emmerdale' star, whose character will replace her Amy Pond as The Doctor's companion.
Karen said: "I've met Jenna and we get on really well. I've been texting her bits and bobs about Matt, but what I wrote is a secret! That's the code of the companion."
However, Karen refused to give Jenna advice on her role in the show, saying she should make the part her own.
She added to Radio Times magazine: "I didn't offer her any advice though because I want her to have the experience for herself. I didn't want to plant any preconceptions in her head."
Matt - who plays the titular Time Lord - insists Jenna didn't need any assisting to settle into the show.
He said: "The show is so much about dealing with Steven Moffat's writing, having an instinct for tone and pace. Jenna nailed that tone of fear and adventure."
