Chris Evans 'discussing ideas' with Channel 5
Channel 5 is "discussing" potential jobs with Chris Evans in a bid to get him to move to the station
Chris Evans is "discussing lots of ideas" with Channel 5.
The 'One Show' presenter - who also hosts the Radio 2 breakfast show - has been in talks with the network's boss Jeff Ford about what he could do at the station, and the head has revealed there are some big plans in the pipeline.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: "We are discussing lots of ideas with Chris. He gets 9.5 million listeners on Radio 1 every morning - he is a big name.
"Our ideas relate to an entertainment show but not as you know it."
The development may disappoint BBC producers, who were hopeful to get the former 'Big Breakfast' host to sign up to the forthcoming series of 'Strictly Come Dancing', which begins soon.
A source said: "Chris would be a brilliant signing. He is a TV legend and would bring his own brand of humour and charisma to the show, not to mention nine million Radio 2 fans and five million 'One Show' fans.
"Nothing is confirmed yet but we have our fingers crossed."
Chris is said to be reluctant to sign up but bosses are hoping his 'One Show' co-host Alex Jones can persuade him after she took part last year."
