Doctor Who series 7 begins on September 1
The first episode of the seventh series of 'Doctor Who' will air at 7.20pm on September 1, it has been confirmed.
The first episode of 'Doctor Who' series seven will air on September 1.
The instalment - entitled 'Asylum of the Daleks' - kicks off at 7.20pm on BBC1 and is 50 minutes long, according to the Radio Times website.
A description of the episode reads: "Matt Smith returns as the oldest time-traveller in the universe. The Time Lord, Amy and Rory are kidnapped by their oldest foe the Daleks and forced on a seemingly impossible mission - to enter the Asylum, a planetary prison confining the most terrifying and insane of the deadly aliens' kind.
"They need an escape route, and fast - but with an army of mad Daleks closing in, and the Ponds' relationship in meltdown, it is up to the Doctor to save not only their lives but his friends' marriage. Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill co-star."
There will be 13 episodes in the series, which will be the final one for Karen and Arthur, who will be making way for Jenna-Louise Coleman to be the new Doctor's assistant.
