Julie Goodyear claims she could not go back to 'Coronation Street' because the schedule is too hectic.

Julie Goodyear would never go back to 'Coronation Street'.

The 70-year-old actress - who played pub landlady Bet Lynch on and off in the ITV soap from 1966 to 2003 - admits she would find the schedule too gruelling nowadays and could not be as much of a "perfectionist" as she would like.

She said: "Would I go back? No. The schedule now is way above and beyond. When I began it was two episodes a week. It's become more and more. I've tremendous admiration for them being able to do it, but I'm a perfectionist in my work. I need rehearsals, tech-runs, make-up and costume."

Julie - who is currently competing in 'Celebrity Big Brother' alongside Martin Kemp, Jasmine Lennard and Rhian Sugden - claims Bet has little in common with her own personality as she is much more down to earth than her.

She told OK! magazine: "Have I got any make-up on? Am I wearing false eyelashes? I'm much more private and shy."
