Simon Cowell wants Olympic Gold Medal winning runner Mo Farah to be a mentor on 'The X Factor'
Simon Cowell wants Olympian Mo Farah to be a mentor on 'The X Factor'.
The show boss is keen to sign the double Gold Medal winner to guide acts on an episode of the singing competition, because of his spirit and the motivation he inspires in young people.
The runner - who won gold in the 5,000 metres and 10,000 metres events at the London 2012 games - will reportedly appear in an Olympics-themed show, when the final acts have been picked and the live rounds of the show begin.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Teaming up with our athletes means they can offer training and pep talks.
"People like Mo know about dedication and hard work. It's only right we invite them to help us shape our future pop stars."
Meanwhile a singer who has been compared to Adele wows judges in tonight's (18.08.12) first episode of this year's series.
16-year-old Ella Henderson wins a standing ovation from the crowd as she sings a song she wrote herself for judges Tulisa, Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and guest judge Mel B.
Mel - who is reportedly very hard on most contestants - tells her: "What we just witnessed was incredible - absolutely incredible.
"Your song writing is so clever. It made me go into my own little world. When you sang it, you just made me believe every single word. I was right there with you."
'The X Factor' starts tonight at 8pm on ITV1.
