Nicole Scherzinger wants to be a good judge
Nicole Scherzinger is desperately hoping she doesn't "mess up" her judging role on 'The X Factor' as it's a job she loves doing
Nicole Scherzinger is desperately hoping she doesn't "mess up" her judging role on 'The X Factor'.
The 34-year-old singer admits it was an "easy decision" to sign up for the ITV1 talent show - on which she was a guest judge two years ago - despite being fired from the US version of the programme after just one season earlier this year, and she is determined not to suffer the same fate this time around.
She told BANG Showbiz: "Yeah it was an easy decision to sign up for the show. This is where I got my start on 'X Factor', in the UK, I really just hope I don't mess it up this time.
"I just put so much hard work into it, but it's the UK and US versions of the show have a different energy to them. The UK one is a well oiled machine but last year was the first year for 'The X Factor' in America."
The raven-haired beauty has taken on a different approaching to judging on the UK show - which also sees Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh on the panel - compared to the US programme, and she finds the contestants are much more charismatic and creative in Britain.
Speaking at the 'X Factor' Launch in London yesterday (16.08.12), she added: "There are a lot more characters here than there are in America. Typically in the US we have big diva singers, like Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, but in the UK they are a little bit more singer/songwriter-y.
"They have a lot wit to them and they bring a lot of storytelling to the table when they are performing and when they are writing. So it's not so much about the big voices, it's more about the character. "
'The X Factor' begins on Saturday (18.08.12) at 8pm on ITV1.
