Sean Bean's full body wax
Sean Bean admits he found it difficult to have a full body wax to play a transvestite on new TV show 'Accused'
Sean Bean struggled with having a full body wax to play a transvestite in 'Accused'.
The 53-year-old actor stars alongside Christopher Eccleston, Mackenzie Crook and Andy Serkis in the BBC series, and he reveals he was willing to put up with the pain so he could work with the show's creator Jimmy McGovern.
He said: "When my agent called me up and asked if I'd ever thought about playing a transvestite, I laughed, 'Not really, why?' But I'd always wanted to work with Jimmy McGovern and when I read the script there was no doubt.
"This is the most demanding role I've played - partly because of the fully body wax!"
However, some parts of the character have continued to stay with him as he still has some of the high heels he wore in the show around his house.
He added to the Radio Times: "I've still got four pairs of size 10 heels lying about my house. I forgot to give them back."
