Peter Andre says his new show is a mix of 'Punk'd' and 'Beadle's About'.
The 'Behind Closed Doors' hitmaker presents 'Peter Andre's Bad Boyfriend Club' on ITV2 which sees him and his team of makeover and style experts turn some of the nation's most hopeless boyfriends into love machines but Peter says it comprises some of the aspects of the legendary prank shows.
He told Metro newspaper: "It's a light-hearted show with a bit of 'Punk'd' and 'Beadle's About' in it. I'm in disguise for some of it and have to sting people. The guys aren't bad, they're just not very good boyfriends, according to their girlfriends. If they change, they can win a holiday to Mexico. There's a lot of humour in it."
The prankster has even used a variety of disguises to help him fool the participants including "an elderly man on a scooter, a raging bloke causing a fight on a golf course and a pizza delivery man."
Peter also revealed he is thrilled to take on the presenting role and is keen to move away from reality TV.
He explained: "It's a show that takes me away from reality TV. It's more of a presenting role and shows me more as a personality. I get to be myself."
