Nile Rodgers says working with Daft Punk is as fulfilling as collaborating with David Bowie or Madonna

Nile Rodgers says Daft Punk are as good as David Bowie and Madonna.

The guitarist and producer has worked with some of the biggest names in the music business and says his recent collaboration with the 'One More Time' group is as good as anything he's ever done.

He told Mixmag: "All I can say is those guys are geniuses and to think that after all these years we've been trying to get together, they just show up at my apartment in New York City and the vibe between us is so powerful and so strong - it's unbelievable.

"Spiritually and artistically working with them was as good as anything I've ever done. It's as great as being in a studio with Bowie, it's great as being with Bernard Edwards, and it's as great as the best stuff I've ever done with Duran or Madonna."

Nile - who wrote and produced 'Let's Dance' with David and Madonna's 'Like a Virgin' album - also promised fans the collaboration will re-establish Daft Punk as leaders in dance music.

He added: "It's going to be so cutting edge that people aren't going to expect what they're doing."

The last studio album by Daft Punk - comprised of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Tomas Bangalter - was 'Human After All' in 2005, since which they have only released a live album, 'Alive 2007' and the largely orchestral soundtrack to the film 'Tron: Legacy'.
