Richard E Grant is to star in the 'Doctor Who' Christmas special.
The 'Iron Lady' actor - who previously parodied the BBC sci-fi show in a Comic Relief sketch in 1999 and portrayed the Time Lord in an animated episode - is "honoured" to be a special guest in the eagerly-anticipated special, which will also see the first outing of The Doctor's new sidekick played by Jenna Louise Coleman.
Richard said: "I played Doctor Who in the digital animated 'Scream of the Shalka' episode and I'm honoured to be in the Christmas special."
The 55-year-old actor will play a villain fighting The Doctor, played by Matt Smith.
The seventh series of 'Doctor Who' begins later this month with a five-instalment run, ahead of the festive special in December.
His current companion Amy Pond - played by Karen Gillan - will bow out of the series at the end of its run, to be replaced by Jenna Louise.
Speaking about her exit recently, Karen said it was the "best ever".
She said: "I was in bits. I didn't want to go. There were tears, a lot of tears. But it is the best exit ever."
