Tom Hardy to trek through Congo for ITV
'Dark Knight Rises' actor Tom Hardy is set to appear in a new documentary for ITV where he travels through the African Congo
Tom Hardy is to star in a new ITV documentary where he goes to the Congo jungle.
The 'Dark Knight Rises' actor will appear in 'Tom Hardy's Congo Adventure', which will see him tested to the limit through the African rainforest, visiting locals, traversing the world's deepest river and surviving in extreme conditions.
A source said: "This is going to be a tough expedition. It won't be some five-star jolly. We want to get to the heart of the Congo and understand the region. Maybe he should bring Bane's mask to scare away some of the local wildlife."
The show will not be aired until May 2013, but bosses at ITV are delighted to have signed the Hollywood hunk - who was born in London.
The source added to the Daily Star newspaper: "He's huge right now and to have him on ITV1 is amazing. We are thrilled he's taking on this adventure."
Tom is still currently promoting 'The Dark Knight Rises', and will next be seen in 'Mad Max: Fury Road' in 2013.
