Steven Moffat has confirmed River Song will be back for the next series of 'Doctor Who'.
The sci-fi show's boss says the time travelling archaeologist - played by Alex Kingston - will be back on TV screens in the seventh series of the BBC One programme.
In her diary River Song - daughter of the 11th Doctor's companions Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill) - refers to her 'night journeys' with the Doctor (Matt Smith) and Steven said that might be explored in the new series.
He said: "I don't know if we'd be allowed to [talk about the night journeys]! Heaven knows, I think it's important that characters keep secrets from their writers, and the Doctor has not given us the information about what happens on those nights. He's a gentlemen. Gentlemen never tell."
Steven also revealed how the Daleks will have prominent role in the new series, which returns to BBC One next month.
He told MTV Geek: "You'll see more Daleks than you've ever seen before, and you'll see more different types of Daleks than you've ever seen before."
