Nathan James leaves Superstar
Nathan James was booted of 'Superstar' last night (23.07.12), after being blasted by Lord Lloyd Webber for his arrogance.
Nathan James was voted off 'Superstar' last night (23.07.12).
The singer had been favourite to win the reality TV competition - which is searching for a performer to take on the lead role in a touring production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' - but crashed out after viewers voted him into the bottom two and show supremo Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber blasted his arrogance.
After Nathan's performance of Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way', Andrew told him: "You need to love the song more than you love yourself. Why do you tweet all this nonsense about yourself? Why did you tweet yourself with a crown of thorns?
"What will you be like in a rehearsal room where everyone is equal? I am terribly worried."
He then chose to save Roger Wright, who was in the bottom two against Nathan.
Upon hearing he was to exit the show, Nathan said: "I would like to say thank you for all your comments, I really tried to take them on board and I really tried to do my best. I'm sorry if it wasn't enough. And thank you to everybody at home for voting. That's the first time I've been in the bottom two and that is a real achievement, it means people out there really care about me."
Nathan also came under fire after he was accused of using the show to plug his solo album of covers.
He tweeted: "It's this simple. If you get me through you get to hear me sing a song off my album. Please vote guys."
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Bosses will be having a word.
"'Superstar' is not a vehicle for a finalist to plug their new album. He is there to compete for the part of Jesus in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical."
Left competing for the role of Jesus are Ben Forster, David Hunter, Roger and Rory Taylor.
