Emmerdale Uncovered: Live show announced
ITV bosses have commissioned a special 'Emmerdale Uncovered: Live' show, to follow the live on-location episode of the show to be broadcast later this year
ITV bosses have commissioned a special 'Emmerdale Uncovered: Live' show.
The one-off live ITV2 show will bring fans action from backstage at the soap straight after it completes a live episode to celebrate its 40th birthday.
A show insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "'Emmerdale Uncovered: Live' will get right to the heart of all the action.
"We will be getting all the reaction from the cast as soon as they come off air and speaking to the crew about how they managed to pull it all off."
'Emmerdale Uncovered: Live' will also feature contributions from fans who have watched the live episode unfold.
The show will be screened later this year, featuring stars such as Mark Charnock (Marlon Dingle), Steve Halliwell (Zak Dingle), Charlotte Bellamy (Laurel Thomas) and Jamie Shelton (Robbie Lawson), and will be directed by Tony Prescott, who previously oversaw 'Coronation Street's live tram crash episode in 2010.
Producer Stuart Blackburn said: ''The entire episode is going to be shot on location at the village set in the Yorkshire Dales.
''We are aware we may be presented with one or two challenges and couldn't think of a better director to tackle them.''
Tony is delighted to be taking charge of the ''ambitious'' episode.
He said: ''It's a great honour to be asked to direct Emmerdale's 40th anniversary episode.
''It is ambitious and will mirror the aspirations that have made the drama so successful.''
