'EastEnders' star Sid Owen has retired from acting.
The actor - who played mechanic Ricky Butcher on/off for almost 25 years - says he has no desire to return to the BBC One soap again as he wants to concentrate on running his restaurant business in France.
He said: "I've retired. I'm now living permanently in France, where I have been on-and-off for the last 10 years, and I'm running my restaurant. I haven't quite made my millions but I'm happy doing that and I'll never be back."
Sid, 40, says he never wants to be on TV screens again as he enjoys the lifestyle he has now got.
He told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "I'm done with the UK and I hope that you will never see me on your TV screens again because I'm done and I've retired. I much prefer the lifestyle I have now."
Sid joined the soap in 1988 before quitting in 2000. He then returned two years later but quit in 2004 before making another come back in 2008.
In January he said he planned to leave 'EastEnders' temporarily.
