Afnan Iftikhar was the first contestant eliminated from 'Superstar' last night (16.07.12).
The male model was the first to leave the show - which is seeking to find a new male lead for musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar' - after viewers put him in the bottom two against Dirk Johnston.
The pair competed in a live sing-off, performing 'Memory' from the musical 'Cats'.
Show boss Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber then decided to save Dirk over his rival.
He said: "I'm wrong-footed because we're doing a song so different to what we've done so far and I hear two boys singing beautifully. But I'm going to save Dirk."
Afnan - who was also been rejected from 'The X Factor' in 2007 - then told host Amanda Holden: "I've had an amazing time."
Yesterday's show saw the ten remaining contestants perform for the judges once more, with another elimination due to take place on tonight's (17.07.12) show.
Meanwhile, viewing figures for 'Superstar' slumped to a new low, after pulling in just over three million viewers on Saturday (14.07.12) and Sunday (15.07.12), half that of BBC show 'Countryfile' on Saturday.
