Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber says he wants to give all 11 of his 'Superstar' wannabes a job in his forthcoming musical 'Cricket' because he has enough for a sports team

Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber wants to give all 11 of his 'Superstar' wannabes a job.

The musical creator joked it would be a "good idea" to employ the hopefuls in his forthcoming musical 'Cricket', and with one of the contestants set to be axed through the public vote on the ITV1 show tonight (16.07.12), he has given his verdict on their chances.

He quipped: "Eleven great singers, it's enough for a cricket team ... that's a good idea!"

Andrew praised hopeful Nathan James for his "outstanding voice" but he is concerned about his over-confident nature, and while he finds Dirk Johnston, 24, "adorable" he believes the wannabe needs to show some "authority" in his singing.

Speaking about Dirk, he added: "Adorable. But could you believe him as a leader of men? I want to hear him do an upbeat song and show that he has authority."

But Andrew doesn't have any bad words to say about Roger Wright, 41, and admits his previous musical experience gives him a great chance of success in 'Superstar'.

He said: "A great performer, if a bit old-fashioned, with a fab voice. He played Simba in 'The Lion King' and is the most experienced of the 11."

ITV bosses are hoping tonight's 'Superstar' episode will see viewing figures return to the 3.5 million level they reached on the programme's debut weekend after ratings dropped to 3.1 million for Saturday night's (14.07.12) show.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Musical-related shows aren't for everyone but we did think there might be more viewers taking to it.

"We've got some great live musical performances coming up - the likes of Paloma Faith and Scissor Sisters - so maybe that will give it a boost."
