Richard Madeley returns to TV
Richard Madeley is making his TV return with a show about squatters for ITV.
Richard Madeley is making a TV show about squatters.
The presenter will interview both squatters and landlords to find out why the unwelcome tenants take over other people's homes and is even considering spending the night in one of the buildings with them for his new ITV programme.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Richard is the perfect person to get involved with this show - he's not afraid of getting his hands dirty.
"He will be interviewing landlords as well as the squatters themselves.
"Richard does have pre-conceived ideas about squatters but I wouldn't be surprised if that changes.
"Some of the people he will talk to during filming have unexpected stories to tell."
The show is expected to air in the autumn.
Although he is making his TV return, Richard's wife and former 'This Morning' co-presenter Judy Finnegan has no plans to appear on screen again.
She previously said: "I can't think of anything to tempt me back, not even multi-millions of pounds, because I feel like we've done it all.
"It's been great fun, but there is a time to call it quits. It was just too much responsibility, too much stress, too much worrying about whether that was a good show or a bad show or a good interview or a bad interview, all that kind of stuff. I want now to stand back a bit, do what I want to do, smell the roses if you put it like that."
