Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders are reuniting for a comedy special.

The comedic duo - who last performed a 'Mamma Mia' sketch together for Comic Relief in 2009 - are set to star in a new episode of 'The Comic Strip Presents', called 'Five Go To Rehab' which spoofs Enid Blyton's iconic 'Famous Five' books.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: "It's great that Dawn and Jennifer are back together again. Viewers have really missed them."

'The Comic Strip Presents' return to comedy channel Gold later this year for the first time in 30 years. It will also star the programme's original writer Peter Richardson and Jennifer's husband Ade Emondson.

A Gold spokesperson said: "Three decades on, the West Country is still a magical land of rolling hills - but the Five have failed to live up to their priggish ideals as they confront today's world."

Commissioning editor Sarah Fraser commented: "'Five Go To Rehab' is one family reunion where extreme havoc reigns."

Since their 2008 farewell live tour, Jennifer has been working on 'Absolutely Fabulous' and the Spice Girls musical and Dawn is gearing up to film ITV1 reality show 'Superstar' with Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber.
