Amy Childs was "really upset" when Sam Faiers criticised her decision to leave 'The Only Way is Essex'.
The flame-haired beauty - who quit the ITV2 reality show in August last year and went on to star in 'Celebrity Big Brother' and launch her own TV programme - was devastated to read her former co-star claim in her book, 'Living Life The Essex Way: TOWIE and Me', that Amy wasn't the person she initially thought she was.
Amy explained: "I'm not going to lie, I was really upset by what she said. And since I left 'TOWIE' I do miss Sam. But we're still best friends. We literally are.
"I've not seen her for a while, but we text quite a lot and we tweet each other."
Since the 22-year-old star quit 'TOWIE' she hasn't seen many of her former castmates except Mark Wright - who was the second high profile member of the show to leave in November last year following Amy's lead - and she has an "amazing friendship" with the 'Take Me Out: The Gossip' co-host.
She added: "I'm working in London most of the time, so I don't really see any of the 'TOWIE' people. The person I do see quite a lot, though, is Mark. He rang me and invited me to his birthday party. We've got an amazing friendship."
