Matthew Wolfenden loved wedding scenes
Matthew Wolfenden had "an absolute ball" filming his 'Emmerdale' wedding and says it felt like a real ceremony
Matthew Wolfenden had "an absolute ball" filming his 'Emmerdale' wedding.
The 32-year-old actor - who is engaged to Charley Webb - enjoyed scenes where his character David Metcalfe tied the knot with his friend Alicia Gallagher (Natalie Anderson).
He said: "It's a sham - David's only marrying her to help her win custody of her son.
"I had an absolute ball filming it. It felt like a proper wedding getting all suited and booted and standing at the front of the register office with my co-stars watching."
In real life, Charley and Matthew - who have son Buster, two, together - have been engaged for two years but the 'Dancing On Ice' winner thinks it is now time to start planning their wedding.
He told Closer magazine: "Buster is much more independent and the 'Dancing On Ice' tour has finished. I think it's time we cracked on with the wedding.
"Our dream would be to fly off somewhere hot and get married on a beach but, if we can't manage that, Newquay will do.
"Charley's quite shy and hates being the centre of attention. A big wedding would be her idea of a nightmare. But if we eloped our mums would never forgive us."
