Rihanna sold 20 million records in the UK.

The 24-year-old singer has sold six million albums and 14 million singles since her debut, 'Music of the Sun' in 2005.

Martin Talbot, managing director of the Official Charts Company - which compiled the data - said: "Rihanna's record, in selling more than 20 million records in the space of seven years, is truly staggering.

"There certainly must have been something in the water when she - and Adele three months later - was born in spring 1988!"

Rihanna's most popular UK single to date is the Calvin Harris-produced 'We Found Love', which has currently sold 1.14 million copies.

'Love The Way You Lie' with Eminem and 'Only Girl (In The World)' were close, as both sold over a million copies.

Rihanna has spent a lot of time in the UK, most recently closing BBC Radio1's Hackney Weekend in London on Sunday (24.06.12).

The 'Rude Boy' singer headlined the second day of the free festival, with her set packed with hits including 'Only Girl In The World', 'Disturbia', 'Birthday Cake', 'Don't Stop The Music' and a surprise appearance by Jay-Z - who had headlined the main stage on Saturday (23.06.12) - for 'Run This Town'.

Rihanna told the crowd: "Hackney, they told me you lot are crazy but I did not expect it to be like this. You guys rock!"

Jay-Z stayed on stage to perform 'Talk That Talk' and 'Umbrella', before Rihanna closed her set with 'We Found Love'.
