BBC bosses are hoping to land Annie Lennox or Lulu for 'The Voice' after being impressed with the success of winner Sir Tom Jones
BBC bosses want Annie Lennox or Lulu for 'The Voice'.
After the surprising success of veteran singer Sir Tom Jones on the first series of the show, when his act Leanne Mitchell won, producers are hoping to line up at least one other more mature coach to possibly replace Jessie J, The Script frontman Danny O'Donoghue or Black Eyed Peas founder will.i.am.
An insider told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Various people are going to be sounded out for the judging panel because the line-up of coaches is the only area where Danny can really shake up the show.
"Any changes to the format are out of the hands of the BBC. Lulu now seems likely after the success of Tom Jones. The thinking is that she would be interested in taking part.
"Annie Lennox would be a real coup, but much harder to secure. Her professional relationship with Universal could help."
Lulu, 63 was believed to be a frontrunner for the job last year until bosses decided to go with the more youthful Jessie J, 24, believing she would connect with younger viewers.
Meanwhile, although Holly Willoughby's presenting role is safe, the BBC will reportedly replace her co-presenter Reggie Yates after he failed to impress.
