Noel Gallagher approached for Strictly
Former Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher is "flattered" to have been asked to appear on 'Strictly Come Dancing' but has turned down the approach.
Noel Gallagher has been asked to take part in 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
Bosses on the celebrity dance contest made an "ambitious" approach to the 'AKA...What A Life!' hitmaker about the prospect of him competing in the next series of the BBC show.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "'Strictly' always sets their targets extremely high.
"The show gets huge viewing figures and the bookers behind the show are very much of the opinion, 'If you don't ask, you don't get.' They knew from the off it was ambitious but they thought it might be something that tickled him."
The 45-year-old rocker admits he is "flattered" by the approach and would have given the offer serious consideration if he weren't so busy.
He said: "I'm flattered. I'd have done it and all as I've recently mastered the sticky task of c***** while dancing.
"Sadly though, I'm a bit busy. Maybe next time."
This isn't the first time Noel has been targeted by reality TV chiefs who want him on their show.
The former Oasis guitarist was previously approached by Simon Cowell to be a judge on 'The X Factor' as the programme's "Alpha Male".
Noel explained last year: "There was a long drawn-out saga of phonecalls going back and forward. When we finally spoke Simon said, in his own inimitable fashion, you know, 'We're rebranding the show and we need an Alpha Male', and I was like, 'OK, what does that mean?'
"He said, 'Well we need someone to replace me'. At first I didn't know what he was offering and I said 'Well what for, I don't understand?' He said ,'For the whole show', and I was like 'No, no'."
