The 'X Factor' judges have begun calling Gary Barlow 'Sir'.

The Take That star is widely speculated to be in the running to receive a knighthood for organising the Diamond Jubilee concert and Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos have wasted no time in poking fun at his prospective new title.

A source at the auditions in Manchester - which saw the panel joined by guest judge Mel B - yesterday (05.06.12), told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The audience erupted into applause when Gary was introduced as 'Sir Gary' when the judges walked on stage and began to take their seats.

"He was jokingly knighted by the warm-up man while Louis Walsh, sporting a new haircut, started calling him Sir Gary, too. The crowd then got behind him, chanting, 'Get Gary knighted!"

Gary had described Monday's (04.06.12) concert - which saw performances from stars including Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Sir Tom Jones and Sir Cliff Richard - as the "biggest night of my life".

He added: "It's going to take something special to top it.

"A massive thanks to all the artists for being so brilliant and so generous with their time."
