Ricky Martin has been named the winner of 'The Apprentice'.
The 26-year-old recruitment manager beat off the competition from 15 other candidates to land the prestigious prize of a business partnership with Lord Alan Sugar, along with an investment of up to £250,000.
In last night's (03.06.12) episode, Ricky battled it out in a four-way final against 23-year-old wine investor Tom Gearing, 29-year-old business development manager Jade Nash and 25-year-old technology entrepreneur Nick Holzherr. With Jade and Nick fired first, Ricky went up against Tom in the last two before being crowned winner..
Ricky's business plan for which he secured Lord Sugar's investment is a recruitment agency specialising in science and technology.
Meanwhile the winner has vowed to be "more serious" after describing himself as the ancient Norse god Thor on his application form.
He told The Sun newspaper: "It is quite embarrassing to hear things I've said. But I think Lord Sugar respected the fact I used the tools I had to make sure I was there, he understood that wasn't me and I just used that to get where I was. I admit I haven't been very professional but I will be from now on."
Ricky - who wrestles under the name Ricky Hype - also vowed to quit the sport but admitted Lord Sugar would "make a good wrestler - successful, hard hitting, straight to the point".
He now follows in the footsteps of last year's winner, Tom Pellereau, who launched his own business venture with Lord Sugar earlier this year.
