Geri Halliwell was booed at 'The X Factor' auditions yesterday (23.05.12).
The former Spice Girls star caused a stir in her first stint as a guest judge on the programme when she appeared to take a swipe at head judge Gary Barlow.
After telling a girl band they couldn't sing, Geri was booed when she added: "[But] not everyone in Take That can sing".
However, Geri - who climbed on a car roof to address the assembled crowd with a megaphone when she arrived at the Liverpool Echo Arena - insisted she wasn't worried about being booed after previously attracting criticism when she was a guest judge on the show two years ago.
She said: "I don't mind if people want to take the p**s out of me.
"You get to a certain age where you think, 'Whatever.' A really big fat boo is good for you, you cannot take it personally.
"Of course they're going to boo as they're protecting their friends. I want to do my best and I'm so grateful for the opportunity. It's a really, really good show."
The 'Wannabe' hitmaker is expected to take the fourth judges' spot permanently and admitted she is always trying to prove herself.
Asked if she felt her guest stint was an audition, she said: "In life we're all on audition.
"The Prime Minister is auditioning right now, we are all proving ourselves every single day of our lives.
"Between me and Gary we've had 22 number ones, that's as much as the Beatles.
"But we're still proving ourselves in this game. That is the industry."
However, the 39-year-old singer is already planning who she would take as her guest helper at the judges' houses stage of the contest, insisting it would be someone close such as George Michael or Victoria Beckham - or even her mother.
She said: "Whoever I bring as my guest helper will be authentic to me. It wouldn't be rent-a-celeb."
