Steve Coogan is bringing back Alan Partridge to television in a new deal with Sky Atlantic
Steve Coogan is reviving his Alan Partridge character for television.
The actor has signed a deal with Sky Atlantic to put out two new one-hour specials based on the hapless Norfolk DJ and adapt his online series 'Mid Morning Matters'.
There will also be a show entitled 'Places of my Life' which will see Partridge take viewers on a tour of his home county.
Coogan said: "Alan has been off the TV for too long but he is even more excited than me about this chance to have a second bite of the cherry. Alan feels the second decade of the millennium is the right time."
Lucy Lumsden, Head of Comedy for Sky revealed the new addition to the programming would kick off a new season of comedy on Sky Atlantic.
She said: "Sky Atlantic is providing our best writer-performers the space to feel creatively free. Who better to kick off our new season of comedies than the phenomenally talented Steve Coogan?"
Sky Atlantic will also screen a new animation created by Steve entitled 'Uncle Wormsley's Christmas'.
