Steve Moffat: Doctor Who's River Song is bisexual
Steven Moffat has revealed 'Doctor Who' character River Song is "bisexual".
'Doctor Who' character River Song is bisexual.
Steven Moffat - executive producer of the BBC series starring Matt Smith as the Time Lord - has revealed both River, played by Alex Kingston and Captain Jack Harkness are "happily bi".
He said in a question and answer session on twitter: "[They are] happily bi. The Doctor comes from a world where such narrow views seem so ridiculous they are hard to remember."
The character is the future daughter of The Doctor's current companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams, and will be reappearing in the next series of the show.
Steven recently claimed the companion to The Doctor is the most important character in the show because they enable the audience to relate to the time travels in the show.
He said: "The story of 'Doctor Who' is always the story of the companion, it's always their story. It was Rose Tyler's story, it's Amy Pond's story - the story of the time they knew the Doctor and how that began; how it developed and how it ended."
The next series of 'Doctor Who' is due in the autumn.
