Steven Moffat was named Best Writer at this year's BAFTA Craft Awards.

The 'Sherlock' co-creator won the prestigious gong after being recognised for 'A Scandal in Belgravia', the opening episode in the second series of the detective drama.

The episode was also recognised for its sound and editing at last night's (13.05.12) ceremony.

Moffat said he was "genuinely, utterly thrilled" by his latest accolade.

'Great Expectations' - the TV adaptation of Charles Dickens famous novel - and wildlife documentary 'Frozen Planet' also won three awards at the event, which recognises behind the scenes talent.

Former Roxy Music star Brian Eno picked up his first BAFTA for his soundtrack to gang thriller 'Top Boy', while colourist Aidan Farrell received a special award for his contributions to such shows as Wallander and Downton Abbey.

Aidan said of his honour: "I have always strived to make images and pictures come alive and evolve my style in the way that artists and photographers do...I am so delighted by this honour."
