Ruth Brown praises 'normal' Tom Jones
Ruth Brown claims her 'Voice' mentor Sir Tom Jones has been "brilliant" to work with because he is "completely normal"
Sir Tom Jones has been a "brilliant" mentor to Ruth Brown.
The 20-year-old singer is pleased she is getting to work so closely with the 'It's Not Unusual' hitmaker on 'The Voice' and despite his fame, she insists her coach is very down-to-earth.
She said: "Tom has been a real star. He is completely normal to be around and he just acts like you and I - a person with a head, body, two legs and two arms.
"He has been brilliant with the songs, and the control over what I sing is shared between us."
Ruth's father passed away last year and she was spurred on to take part in 'The Voice' because of their shared love of music, and she admits agreeing to enter the show is the best thing that could have happened following her dad's death.
She told new! magazine: "My dad would have been excited and supportive.
"My mum Claudette has been incredible too. Out of something so awful, the best thing has happened.
Doing 'The Voice' has given me such a confidence push."
