Drake's show was cut short by the police on Tuesday (08.05.12).

The 'Over' hitmaker was performing in Irvine, California, but officials forced him to cut his set short after he overrun as they feared the noise could upset people living nearby.

After the show the rapper tweeted: "Police made me cut the show short but I love you all for rocking with me Irvine."

Drake, 25, had to drop approximately three songs from his set and wrap up the show - which also featured sets from J. Cole, Waka Flocka Flame, 2 Chainz and two other acts - at 11.45pm, when police warned him he had gone past his scheduled time and asked him to stop.

Earlier in the day Drake had urged fans to turn up early, tweeting them that the show would start at 06.30pm.

Drake is staging his Club Paradise tour of the US in support of his 'Take Care' album, and said he put as many of his favourite acts on the bill as he could.

He told MTV: "I tried to put together a tour that consisted of everybody that you hear in your spare time."

Despite his fame, Drake recently insisted he doesn't have a wild party lifestyle on tour, and enjoys the same pursuits of other men his age.

He said: "I've been playing FIFA, eating Jamaican food and listening to dancehall in little basements. That's just what I do. I don't want to change just because I'm playing in big arenas."
