BGT unveils new voting rules
Viewers of 'Britain's Got Talent' will be able to vote using the ITV show's iPhone app during the live shows.
'Britain's Got Talent' viewers will be able to vote directly through an iPhone app in the live shows.
The programme - fronted by Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon - will now be influenced by the 'BGT' app, with viewers able to purchase a bundle of three votes for £1.49, keeping the cost similar to the traditional phone vote.
Ann Cook, Director of Interactive ITV and Managing Director of ITL, said: "We know that today's viewers like engaging and interacting with our biggest shows via new platforms and on many devices. Therefore it makes sense for us to explore introducing voting to the places where large numbers of viewers are already engaged.
"We're really looking forward to seeing how audiences respond to both these two new voting platforms, alongside the existing landline platform, as 'Britain's Got Talent' moves into its exciting live final phase this weekend."
Viewers will only be able to vote as special times when the lines go live.
The 'Britain's Got Talent' app has received more than 500,000 downloads across the series so far.
