Louis Walsh confirmed for X Factor
Louis Walsh is set to return to 'The X Factor' for the ninth season, and he admits he is "delighted" to be back
Louis Walsh is returning to 'The X Factor'.
The Irish record executive - who is responsible for bands Boyzone and Westlife - is the second judge after Gary Barlow to be confirmed for the show, and he admits he is "delighted" to come back for his ninth year.
Louis said in a statement: "I'm back! It's my ninth year on the show and as the only remaining original judge I'm delighted to take my seat once more on the judging panel."
Simon Cowell, who left the UK version of the show to start up a new US adaptation, revealed he was pleased he would be returning.
He said: "The show wouldn't be the same without Louis, I am really happy he is coming back. I hope he has an opportunity this year to show what an astute manager he is."
Kelly Rowland recently revealed she would not be returning to the show after just one season as a judge.
Tulisa Contostavlos - who last year won with her act Little Mix - is widely expected to return but no announcement has yet been made.
Auditions for the series begin later this spring.
