Yes to Rehab for Amy Winehouse
- 15 August 2007
A busy summer season has taken its toll on singer Amy Winehouse who has been forced to cancel several concerts including two support slots last night and tonight at The Rolling Stones gigs in Germany and T in the Park and Liverpool’s Summer Pops event earlier this summer. Winehouse told tabloid newspapers that she had been admitted to hospital after three days of drinking and drug taking. She admitted: “I was so out of control. It just happened. It shocked me. I’m sorry – I just don’t know what got into me.” A spokesman for the 23 year old star said yesterday: “She is resting under doctor’s orders.” The singer is due to perform at this weekend’s V Festival in Essex and Staffordshire and as yet festival organisers are expecting her to appear on stage as planned.
