Phillip Schofield knows how to push Holly Willoughby's "buttons".

The 50-year-old star has been presenting 'This Morning' with Holly since 2009 when Fern Britton left, and he admits the pair get on so well because they share a similar sense of humour.

He said: "Holly and I are great mates. We know each other so well now. She knows when I'm in trouble on air and am going to laugh and I know what pushes her buttons. We make a dangerous combination.

"I adore Holly. We've had a terrific time together. It was tough because I had such a great relationship with Fern, but from the minute she decided to leave, Holly was the obvious choice. She's great fun and she's got a brilliant sense of humour."

However he admits being close to Holly, his 'Dancing on Ice' co-presenter Christine Bleakley and wife Steph is sometimes a difficult juggling act.

He told the Daily Mirror: "I'm sure any sensible bloke would agree you sometimes have to dance very delicate steps where women are concerned.

"Blokes have to be very careful about their reactions to things and what they say. I occasionally have to do a very delicate dance but I think I've got it down to a fine art now."
