Carol Vorderman breaks down in tears over the loss of presenter Richard Whiteley on 'Piers Morgan's Life Stories'.
The host becomes upset when discussing the death of the 'Countdown' star, whom she worked with for more than 20 years.
As she wells up, Carol says: "'It still hurts very much. I loved him, I really loved him.
"'He was more than just nice, he was funny, funny, funny. Every time we were in studio together I would cry laughing. He was just a joy to be with and I loved him. Not in that way, just a genuine, pure thing.''
Carol got her TV break working alongside Richard on 'Countdown' in 1982, and she continued to work with him until his death following heart surgery in 2005.
'Loose Women' host Carol also says on the show - which airs tonight (27.04.12) on ITV1 - she regrets her breakup from ex-husband Paddy, which she admits only happened because of her career taking off.
She says: "I loved Paddy and Paddy loved me and we had a very, very happy marriage. I loved him more than I've ever loved any man."
The couple were married from 1990 to 2000, and have two children together, Katie and Cameron.
Carol added: "We're as friendly as we can be. We've got two great kids together."
