Johnny Briggs says he's slept with more women than Bill Roache
Johnny Briggs claims he's slept with more women than his former 'Coronation Street' co-star Bill Roache after he revealed he had bedded over 1,000 ladies.
Johnny Briggs claims he's slept with more women than his former 'Coronation Street' co-star Bill Roache.
Bill recently said he had bedded 1,000 females over the years, but Johnny - who played Bill's soap Weatherfield rival Mike Baldwin for 30 years - insists he has been intimate with more ladies.
He said: "I'm amazed that Bill Roache said he's slept with that many women. What goes on in the bedroom stays in the bedroom. I was a bit of a ladies' man myself.
"I don't know if I can say how many I've bedded, but it's probably more than him."
Bill - who has played Ken Barlow in the ITV1 soap since it began in 1950 - revealed he had slept with over 1,000 women before settling down with second wife Sara but wasn't proud of his actions.
The 79-year-old actor said: "Looking back, I didn't know any better. But what I did find out is it does not bring you happiness and it is not the way to be.
"I had the opportunity, I indulged it and I can tell you this - it's not worth it. The pain that it caused, and there's all sorts of dangers."
While Johnny was still in 'Coronation Street', viewers saw the pair fight over Ken's wife Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) when she had an affair with Mike, sparking a life-long feud which intensified when Mike married Ken's daughter Susan and had a son with her.
Johnny bowed out of the soap in April 2006, when Mike died of a heart attack in Ken's arms.
