The Darkness are hoping to collaborate with Lady Gaga.

The 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love' hitmakers are set to support the pop superstar on her forthcoming 'Born This Way Ball' tour and are hoping it will lead to entering the studio with the star.

The group's frontman Justin Hawkins said: "We were chosen by her. She had a shortlist of artists available and she didn't like any of them, so she chose us instead.

"Will we collaborate? I'm sure there's a cover we could do. It would be quite vaudevillian and spectacular."

Justin also admitted the group are hoping to be able to "steal" some of Gaga's best stage moves for themselves.

He added to NME: "It's a real honour, she's got a brilliant vibe. It'll give us a chance to learn something from her show as well, and steal it for ourselves.

"I'm a big fan of everything about Gaga, her music, her persona, the weirdness. It's great."
