Two new names join Scottish Broadcasting Commission
The new commission formed to look at the future of Scotland’s broadcast industry will include input from actress Elaine C Smith and playwright Chris Ballance. The investigation into the state of television and production north of the border was ordered by First Minister Alex Salmond, with the commission due to meet for the first time in the autumn. The commission will make recommendations for Scottish government action in line with its devolved powers, and is due to report back next year. Chaired by Blair Jenkins, the nine-strong group boasts writer and film maker Murray Grigor and former director of the Scottish Arts Council Seona Reid.
