Actor Christian Slater is returning to Edinburgh later this month to present the Intelligent Finance Comedy Awards at this year’s Fringe Festival. More than 350 comedy shows are in the running for this year’s award of £8,000, to be judged by a panel of journalists, radio and television producers and competition winners. Slater will be sharing the stage with 2006 winner Phil Nichol at the ceremony on Saturday 25 August. The awards, previously known as the Perrier Awards are now in their 27th year, and previous winners include Steve Coogan, Lee Evans and The League of Gentlemen.
