'Coronation Street's Audrey Roberts will collapse with a heart attack in front of her horrified family.
The soap hairdresser - played by Sue Nicholls, 68 - will be struck down during Monday's (23.04.12) episode and taken to hospital after a row with her bad boy grandson David Platt over the ownership of her salon.
Sue and the 'Coronation Street' team worked closely with the British Heart Foundation to accurately portray the scenes.
Sue said: "The foundation put me in touch with some ladies who had suffered similar attacks. Many women will identify with Audrey's lifestyle - she works long hours, has little exercise and enjoys a tipple. It could happen to anyone of us, not just middle-aged men."
David and Audrey have been at war over who owns the hair salon, with David getting his grandmother arrested last week when she tried to remove his new sign.
Audrey in turn hit David with a court injunction in order to get her business back but the stress of the situation will land her in hospital.
A terrified David dials 999 and his wife Kylie (Paula Lane) and Audrey's daughter Gail (Helen Worth) all rush with the crimper to hospital.
