Corrie's Kylie and David to go 'crazy' in the salon
Coronation Street's Kylie and David Platt will barricade themselves in the salon and camp overnight in a bid to get back at Audrey Roberts for sacking him.
Coronation Street's Kylie and David Platt will barricade themselves in the salon to get back at his grandmother.
The bad boy hairdresser - who is played by Jack P Shepherd in the ITV1 soap - and loud-mouthed brunette Kylie (Paula Lane) turn the establishment into a "crazy salon" in a bid to frustrate owner Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) after she demanded David hand the salon back to her.
The couple hatch their plan after David gets axed from his new job as a junior hairdresser when Kylie pretends to be a really impressed customer after he cuts her tresses, but their bright idea fails when his new boss realises they share the same surname.
Paula explained: "Kylie sits down and has her hair done in the crazy style that she loves. She hands her credit card over but of course it has the same surname, so he gets sacked again.
"David and Kylie then have the locks changed in the salon, barricade themselves in, and they camp in there as well. Then they just turn it into this crazy salon where there is rope writing and massively crazy music is pumping out."
As she cannot get into the shop, Audrey sets up a mobile salon outside which attracts all her customers and results in Emily Bishop - who is portrayed by 81-year-old Eileen Derbyshire - being physically pulled by Kylie and Audrey towards their respective salons.
Speaking on ITV1's 'This Morning', Paula added: "Eileen said to me, 'Just pull me'. But I said, 'I can't pull you!'
"They are the great Corrie moments when you can really push the boundaries."
