Sid Owen for Strictly Come Dancing
Sid Owen is close to a deal to sign up for the new series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'
Sid Owen is set to take part in the new series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 'EastEnders' actor is close to signing in a deal for the BBC One show which could see him battle his on screen sister Charlie Brooks - who plays Janine Molloy - for the glitterball trophy as she has reportedly signed up.
A friend of Sid told The Sun newspaper: "Sid has seen how many of his 'EastEnders' colleagues have taken part in Strictly over the past few years and they've all loved it.
"People such as Kara Tointon, Jessie Wallace and Scott Maslen raved about the experience -- as did Charlie when she took part in the Christmas special.
"So now he fancies trying it for himself."
Sid considered competing in 'Dancing On Ice' this year but decided 'Strictly' would be "more fun".
The friend added: "He did think about signing up for this year's 'Dancing On Ice' but the timing wasn't right and he thought 'Strictly' would be more fun."
Sid has previously taken part in reality TV show 'I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here', coming third behind the series' eventual winner Carol Thatcher.
