Brian Belo is to launch a new show to rival the success of 'The Only Way Is Essex', which will focus on the lives of a group of guys and girls living in Marbella
Brian Belo is to launch a new show to rival the success of 'The Only Way Is Essex'.
The former 'Big Brother' winner - who claims to have originally come up with the idea for the ITV2 reality series - will head out to the sun-soaked Spanish holiday destination of Marbella to shoot 'Marbella Beach', with Channel 5 believed to be leading the bidding to screen the programme.
Following a group of gorgeous guys and girls - including professional David Beckham lookalike Andy Harmer, ex-'Big Brother' babe Amy Alexandra and former Miss Great Britain Rachael Tennant - who have moved to Marbella, the show will document them both and work and at play.
An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "'Marbella Beach' will score where other reality shows fail. It will have sun, sea and lots of sexy action with bikini babes and hunks in trunks."
The launch of Brian's new TV show comes after the 24-year-old star issued a High Court writ against ITV and Lime Pictures claiming 'The Only Way Is Essex' was originally his idea and demanding more than £100,000 in compensation.
Brian claims to have pitched a promotional episode to the producer called 'Totally Essex' featuring him and some of his friends Amy Childs, Mark Wright, Sam Faiers, and Kirk Norcross and alleges there was a "breach of confidence" and the company "reproduced or adapted part of a format that he created".
While 'TOWIE' could face the chop if Brian wins his case, show bosses insist it is an original concept and slammed his claim as "totally without foundation".
In a joint statement, ITV and Lime Pictures said: "'The Only Way is Essex' is an original concept created and developed by an award-winning team at Lime Pictures after he pitched the idea to the producers
"Belo's claim against Lime and ITV is totally without foundation and will be vigorously defended.
"The creative team at Lime Pictures is very proud of 'TOWIE', and the notion that it was not entirely their own work is a serious allegation which is completely refuted."
