Maria O'Connor became the second candidate fired from 'The Apprentice' last night (28.03.12).
The brunette restaurateur fell asleep in the middle of a task, which required both teams to devise a new household gadget and pitch to two retail giants, and she was accused of not doing enough to help the losing girls' team.
But Maria believes Lord Alan Sugar should have dismissed her project manager Jane McEvoy because Team Sterling came up with such a "s**t" product.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Lord Sugar was wrong to fire me, I shouldn't have gone. I think I did more than enough during the task. Obviously I fell asleep which is one of the reasons I got fired, but the task failed because the product was s**t.
"The project manager is at fault, they choose which product you go for. She should have been fired. But I think Lord Sugar went along with her sob story, that's why I went."
Despite nodding off in the car during a crucial decision-making process, Maria is able to look back on the situation and laugh.
She added: "I couldn't help it - I wanted to sleep! You've got to look back on it and laugh at the end of the day, it's funny. If I saw someone else doing it then I would be crying my eyes out laughing at it. Everyone else found it hilarious and we all laughed about it."
The girls' suffered their second loss in a row after choosing to go with a splash screen to put on the side of the bath for children's bathtime instead of their original idea of a tap cosy, which lets people put their feet up in the bath.
Their product lost out to the boys, who struggled to choose between pitching a waste compactor bin and a pair of rubber gloves with scourers on one side.
