A couple were axed from 'Take Me Out' after the man was exposed for hiding a thuggery conviction.

During last week's show, Jarvis Walters picked Hannah Reville as his date, but viewers didn't see any of the footage because he didn't declare a previous conviction.

The couple got to go on a romantic trip to Cyprus, but fresh background checks revealed Hannah's date had a conviction for assaulting a man in a club.

Hannah was left furious as it meant she didn't appear on the ITV1 dating show, even though she did nothing wrong.

She fumed: "He did something wrong - I did nothing."

A pal said after last week's show featured three dates instead of four: "She was so excited when Jarvis picked her. Now she is devastated."

Jarvis - who got a 12-month community order over the 2009 assault - said his date was the "best ever", adding: "'Take Me Out' have lost out big time."

A spokeswoman for the show, which is hosted by Paddy McGuinness, confirmed to The Sun newspaper: "Jarvis did not declare a conviction that came to light."
